Welcome to Alpine and Star Valley

Nestled in the heart of a verdant valley between Wyoming’s Salt River Range and Idaho’s Webster Range, Star Valley is a tranquil community draped in breathtaking scenery and small-town charm while offering a treasure trove of recreation for locals and guests. A hidden gem in Western Wyoming speckled with dainty, western towns—Alpine, Etna, Afton, Thayne, and more—while tucked against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains 35 miles from Jackson Hole.

Star Valley was originally inhabited by the Shoshone Indians who were drawn to the locality for its abundant game and pure salt deposits found near the present-day town of Auburn. Around the mid-1800s, it came to be a place settled by Mormon pioneers who proclaimed it "The Star of All Valleys" for its scenic beauty and the star-studded night sky.

An iconic place to call home, real estate in Star Valley features a diverse range of architectural styles and price ranges to satisfy different tastes and budgets while ensuring there's a perfect place for you in the community. From 3-acre log homes accented with copper and stone to private Fly-in communities in Alpine and historic ranch properties, it appeals to those wanting the Wyoming experience away from the tourist centric Jackson Hole.
